Allegiance

We would like to thank you for having an interest in our dogs.
We fell in love with the Newfoundland breed several years ago when we rescued our first
Newfoundland, Sheba, from the Great Lakes Newfoundland Rescue.
Sheba was a 5 year old who brought much joy and
laughter into our home. We lost Sheba in January of 2001.
In August of 2000 we were blessed with "Libby" CH. Pouch
Cove's Majestic Bay Gal, CGC from Peggy and Dave Helming of Pouch Cove Newfoundlands in
New Jersey. Libby was our first Newfoundland we showed to her Championship.
We were introduced to Deb Wigal of Top Shelf Newfoundlands
through Peggy Helming to help us with showing and grooming. Since
that time we have added other Top Shelf Newfoundlands to our home. Deb has been a wonderful mentor, forever friend, and we thank her for all
the assistance, training, and knowledge she has shared. December
of 2002 we added our first Newfoundland to our home that we bred. Her name
is CH. Allegiance Raise The Rim - Jam. Our latest addition from outside
our kennel is a dog from
another very good friend and mentor, Carol Bergmann at Darbydale Newfoundlands.
Carol and I co-own CH. Darbydales Zoo Two out of a wonderful bitch from Belgium.
January 21, 2010 we welcomed a new addition. We are co-owning a beautiful
puppy from Belgium out of the Fearless Bear Kennel. This puppy is named
Fearless Bears In The Red and we will call her Visa. She will be owned by
Amy Lane, Deb Wigal, and Els Wouters and will live with Deb Wigal at Top Shelf
Newfoundlands.
We participate in conformation events and are training our Newfoundlands to
participate in water rescue, obedience, and draft work. Newfoundlands are
a very versatile breed. Many Newfoundlands also participate in agility, search
and rescue and are therapy dogs too. As wonderful as we think this breed
is a Newfoundland is not for everyone. You should really do your research
about the Newfoundland and visit several breeders and spend time with them before you
decide to get a Newf. The Newfoundland's do have health problems that you
should be aware of before purchasing one as well. An experienced breeder
or fancier or your local Newfoundland Club can educate you on those issues.
Or you can visit the Newfoundland Club of America website for further
information at www.newfdogclub.org .
Our home is always open to anyone in the area passing through or who would like
to visit our dogs. Our dogs always love visitors. We live in a small town in the southeastern
area of Michigan. We are located about 2 hours north of Detroit. Give
us a call if you are in the area. We would love to have you meet our dogs.
